Comments from the recipient:
"The money received from the 100 Women Grant Recipients, assisted the Speakers Bureau to receive public speaking training from Algonquin College. A couple of women (Melissa Hoffman and Cheryl Tennant) were helped with professional clothing. In addition, one woman (Donna Grichen) received funding to assist with the purchase of a new wheelchair. Funding for this purchase was difficult to find so without the PPDCF, this might have not happened or could have taken much longer.
The contributions help ensure that all persons with intellectual disabilities have the supports they need to live without discrimination and to more easily participate in society.

Comments from the 100+ Women Committee:
The mission of the CLUOV is to ensure that all persons live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of living in the community and have the opportunity to participate effectively. The Community Foundation grant ($1,500) provided funds to help purchase a wheelchair for one client and appropriate business clothing for two others so they can make presentation to community groups.
