"The 100 Women grant went to our Cooking Connections program pairing seniors with youth. We ran a 6 week session with 4 seniors and 12 girls. Half the sessions, the seniors took the lead with providing us with "old fashioned" meal ideas with the girls helping, and then the other half of the time the girls demonstrated some "new age" meal ideas! Very successful as judged by interaction and smiling faces!
These pictures are showing our session where Seniors are demonstrating making rolls! The girls were intrigued as no one had seen or expected that! The "grandmas" had brought some already prepared to the "oven stage" and so while they were preparing another batch from the beginning we were smelling the wonderful aroma of baked bread ! The grandmas took turns telling some stories about their teen years as we sat with warm buns and jam! The girls taught the seniors about quinoa (which none had ever heard of) and made a corn/quinoa chili which they enjoyed very much ! Very positive experience for everyone! They all finished the 6 week session with cookbooks!

Comments from the 100+ Women Committee:
The Foundation awarded $750 to the Krista Johnson Foundation to assist with a New Cooking Connection Program, which partnered senior women with young women to share experiences and knowledge in the kitchen while developing and strengthening relationships and respect between the two generations.
