Comments from the recipient:
An intensive anger management support program for women has been lacking in our community for a long time. The impact of implementing this program will not only be felt by the clients and their families but also by organizations and social service agencies. Currently, agencies have very few resources for women seeking intensive anger management support. Travelling to Ottawa is not an option for many women leaving them struggling to cope with the effects their anger is having on their relationships and their lives.
Comments from the 100+ Women Committee:
The Foundation awarded $2000 to this eight-week group setting program, facilitated by a trained professional, which will provide women with an understanding of what anger is and where it may be coming from. Once this is understood, women will be given practical tools to manage their anger and to build healthy personal and professional relationships. The facilitator will connect with the participants 3 months and 6 months after the completion of the program to monitor and evaluate the long-term impact of the program on the participants.
