The Foundation awarded $2000 to Pembroke Area Cross Country Ski Club- Parking Lot Lighting and Safety

PAXC is a volunteer, not-for- profit organization that manages 12+ km of cross country skiing at the Forest Lea ski trails (Pembroke/Petawawa). They  provide high-quality groomed ski trails and host several programs, including a kid’s ski school, women’s clinics, social events, and races. Their goal is to encourage outdoor winter physical activity for all community members.

With the 100+ Women PPD’s support,  PAXC would like to install hydro to the PAXC clubhouse, as well as lighting in the parking lot. The anticipated outcome is that this lighting will make the ski club more appealing in darkness and encourage more community members, especially women, youth and kids to ski in the after-school and evening hours of the week.
