The Foundation awarded $2000 to Columbus House (Pembroke) Inc. Young Parent Support Program
Columbus House provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment to help each client discover and succeed to their full potential. The Young Parent Support Program is a unique program offering both school base education as well as life skills. While the young parents attend school, their children also attend the onsite licensed daycare.
With the help of 100+ Women PPD the priority project will address positive well-being, mental and physical health as well as nutrition for both the young parents and their children. The project goal is to foster and develop an active and healthy lifestyle that can be carried on and passed onto their children. Activities to be undertaken in the project are parent and me swimming, parent and tot skating, parent and me music garden, skyza, freezer crockpot meals, freezer casserole meals
