The Foundation awarded $1000 to Carefor- Renfrew County- Community Medical Equipment Loan Cupboard Program.

Carefor's Pembroke-Renfrew County operation serves the largest county in Ontario. At over seven million square kilometres, our services span 18 municipalities on a daily basis. Geographical distances are a major hurdle in obtaining healthcare supports in this region, and Carefor plays a significant role in this region because of its ability to connect with all communities.Carefor Pembroke-Renfrew County offices have a suite of programs designed specifically to service the needs of the communities within Renfrew County. Carefor is dedicated to delivering safe, timely, high quality home health and community services to the residents of Champlain and neighbouring districts.

Money from 100+ Women will assist Carefor Mackay Centre in expanding its medical loan cupboard. This program offers medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, bedpans, hospital beds, etc) to individuals in need free of charge for a long or short term borrowing. Seventy-five percent of the use of this cupboard is by women accessing equipment to help care for a family member. The goal is to alleviate the financial pressures associated with the costs of illness and/or injury.
